Project Overview:
Replace both current webmail clients (the one in the portal and the legacy one) with a new client with expanded features, especially the ability to render HTML messages properly, and ongoing support from the community so that the application is updated as usage evolves in HTML and email functionality in general use.
Key Stakeholders:
All users of webmail, especially students.
Benefits:
Better experience for users. Reduced need for IT techs to scramble to find fixes when messages won't render, etc.
Project Deliverables:
New client and documentation.
Retirement of legacy webmail client.

Issues/Risks:
The current webmail client in the portal is unsupportable and needs to be replaced.
The legacy webmail client is/will be redundant now that functionality embedded in it such as email forwarding and vacation messages have been implemented in the portal assuming that the new webmail client has all of the other features and more.
Migration issues should be minimal, as webmail clients do not support local email folders. User configuration changes should be minimal.
