Active Directory Security Group
Active Directory security groups can be created to manage or assign permissions to group
resources such as:
- Printer, Scanner
- Shared network drive
Security Groups allow you to manage user and computer access to these shared resources. This simplifies administration by allowing you to set permissions once on a resource, then change the membership of the group as your needs change.
What do I need to get this service?
An active faculty, staff and graduate student with a UCMNetID, and the computer and network devices must be connected to the UC Merced (ucmerced.edu) domain in order to utilize the security group service.
What is included?
Security group set up and training on best practices.
When is support for this service available?
Support for this service is provided during standard operating hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
