Classroom Technology Consultation (A/V)


OIT provides both pre-semester, first day of instruction (Meet and Greet) and general consultations on the review of in-room audio/visual technology.

What do I need to get this service?

This service is available to all current UC Merced faculty and lecturers.

Pre-Semester Consultation – Submit a request anytime during the two weeks before the start of a semester.

Day of Instruction (Meet and Greet) – Classroom Technology Support staff will visit all classes at the start of the semester.

What is included?

Classroom Technology Support staff will spend time with faculty and lecturers to assist with and increase their comfort in using in-room technology.

When is support available for this service?

Pre-Semester Consultation – Classroom Technology Support staff are available two weeks before the start of a semester. This is generally recommended as it allows more time to test and discuss using the room.

Day of Instruction (Meet and Greet) – During the first week of instruction, Classroom Technology Support Staff make an effort to visit each class in the ten minute window before it starts. Larger classes and new instructors are prioritized.

How long does it take to get this service?

Initial consultation will occur within 3 business days.

How do I stop or change this service?

Pre-Semester Consultation – Call the Service Desk with your ticket number and request.

Day of Instruction (Meet and Greets) – Simply let the Classroom Technology Support staff member know you are good with the classroom technology.

What does the service cost?

There is no cost for this service.
