Delete Old Messages
Deleting old emails, especially one's with large attachments, will free up space towards your quota.
Folders To Delete
- Inbox - This will probably be the folder with the largest amount of messages. Cleaning this folder up often will make maintaining the folder easier.
- Sent - This folder will hold most of the messages that you have sent to other people. The other place you can look is the Sent Items folder. The reason it may lie in 2 folders is if you use multiple email clients, for example web mail, it may save the sent messages into different folders.
- Sent Items - Same as the Sent folder.
- Junk Email - This folder holds everything that was marked as SPAM. You should check this folder everyday not only because there will certainly be messages to delete, but there may also be messages that you might want to keep. Messages may also be found in the SPAM folder.
- SPAM - This folder is the same as the Junk Email folder.
- Trash - This is the last place you look to delete messages as all messages that were deleted in the previous folders will end up here. This folder should be emptied every day.
