Connecting to UC Merced's Guest Wireless Access on Mac OSX

Setting Up Guest Wireless

  1. Find the Airport icon on the far right of your menu bar. Click on the icon and then select UCM-Guest from the drop down menu.
  2. open your web browser of choice (Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, etc.) and try to go to a website outside of UC Merced - meaning a website that does not end in .ucmerced.edu. An example of a website outside of UC Merced would be www.cnn.com or www.ucdavis.edu.
  3. After a short period of time, your browser should display a window that looks similar to this:
  4. Click Continue (or OK, or Yes, depending on what browser you are using).
  5. You should be redirected to a page asking you for your email address. If you do not see the page pictured below, you may have to manually enter https://1.1.1.1/login.html into the address bar of your browser in order navigate to it.
  6. Click on Accept and your browser will be redirected to the original website you entered.

As a user of the UCM-Guest wireless network, you will have access to the following services and ports:
