Connecting to UC Merced's Guest Wireless Access on Windows XP

Setting Up Guest Wireless

  1. Click on Start->Control Panel
  2. If your control panel is in Classic View Skip to Step 6.
  3. Click Network and Internet Connections.
  4. Click Network Connections.
  5. Skip to Step 7.
  6. Click Network Connections.
  7. Right click on your wireless connection and choose properties.
  8. Click on the Wireless Networks tab.
  9. Click View Wireless Networks
  10. Click on the UCM-Guest network.
  11. Click Connect
  12. A window will pop up in the lower right taskbar that says you are connected.
  13. Open up your browser.
  14. There will be a window that will display asking you to accept a certificate. This window may look different depending on what browser you are using. Click OK.
  15. You will be offered a screen where you can put in your email address.
  16. Enter your Email Address
  17. Click Accept

You are now connected to the UCM-Guest wireless network.

Service and Port Access Restrictions

As a user of the UCM-Guest wireless network, you will have access to the following services and ports:
