How to Configure Office 365 Calendar on iCal

Introduction:

This instructional guide will step you through the process of configuring the calendar client iCal on Mac OSX (Snow Leopard through Mountain Lion, 10.6.8 - 10.8.1).
 
Note: iCal does not support the creation of new events to the UC Merced exchange server. New events must be created through the webpage at o365.ucmerced.edu
 
1. Open the iCal program located on the dock or in the applications folder in finder.

2. From the top menu bar select iCal and then select Preferences.

3. Select accounts from the top menu.
 

 
4. Select plus button located in the bottom left corner of the preferences window to add a new
calendar account.

5. Select Exchange for Account Type. This will open an additional entry field for your full
name and add the account as an exchange account. Enter your full name and complete email
address (UCMNetID@ucmerced.edu) along with the password and click Create.

6. You will reach a confirmation page outlining the iCal exchange account that will be setup.

* If email and contacts are already setup on your mac deselect the Mail and Contacts check boxes to avoid duplicate accounts.
Confirm the information and click Create.
