Research Data Storage and Backup


OIT provides on-site or cloud based storage, backup, archive, and repository services for individual or group research data.

What do I need to get this service?

An active faculty can submit this “Request” located on this page to complete a request form.

What is included?

OIT will provide an initial consultation up upon request.

Please review the following information prior to the consultation to help determine the best solution for your needs:

Storage: Where you put your data while you are still collecting, analyzing, or modifying it.

Backup (Short-term): Additional “mirror” copies of data you have in Storage, frequently updated to reflect current state.

Archive (Long-term): Secure location to permanently store data you are finished working with.Repository: A location to store data associated with a publication, viewable by the public without special access.

When is support for this service available?

Processing of you request for this service is provided during standard operating hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.

How long does it take to get this service?

Depending on the size and scope of the project, set-up time will vary. Expect a minimum of 5-7 business days from the time of your initial consultation.

How do I stop or change this service?
