Document Management and Storage
Kyocera Mita Scanners
A document has been created to help individuals with both scanning documents using the Kyocera Mita scanner and accessing the scanned documents.
UCMSTOR & UCMBOBCAT
Two complementary facilities are available for document management and file storage. The file storage facility (UCMSTOR) provides services similar to those of a traditional departmental file server, although it is implemented centrally using a Bluearc network appliance that offers better manageability and scalability.
UCM Share
The document management facility (UCM Share) provides features such as indexing, search, abstracts, versioning, as well as secure Internet access via web browsers, and is implemented using Xerox's DocuShare product.
Differences between UCMSTOR and UCM Share
Both facilities use the standard UCMNetID and password to provide access. When document management functionality and remote access are not required, UCMSTOR will offer the best performance and ease-of-use and is the preferred choice. However, access to UCMSTOR from locations other than the campus, Castle, or Mondo requires the use of a virtual private network (VPN) client.
Informational documents
Information is available for help in accessing the UCMSTOR and UCM Share services. An optional desktop client for accessing UCM Share is available only for Windows users.
