Networked Services Update 7/20/2003
Our electronic directory is up and may be searched via the web -- use the "Find People" link on the left hand size of this page. Furthermore, integrating the electronic directory into most e-mail clients is possible; contact IT staff to learn how.
Early adopters are now using the new e-mail system, UCM Mail, which features a web interface, allowing access to your e-mail from virtually anywhere. However, email can still be accessed using the IT-recommended Eudora client or other tools such as Outlook.
Everyone now has a UCMNetID@ucmerced.edu address which, for users not yet migrated to UCMMail, will continue to direct email to their UCOP accounts. If you would like to know your ucmerced.edu address so that you can give it to your correspondents, you can use the "Find People" link, search for your name and see your ucmerced.edu email address.
In the coming weeks, UCM Calendar (Corporate Time) and UCM Share (Docushare) will be moving to UNIX platforms and become accessible through the same UCMNetID and password used to access the new e-mail system. We will also be deploying a portal environment which will simplify access to all of these applications.
