OIT offers consultation and support for the publication of mobile applications in the Apple and Google Play app stores. This service is provided to UC Merced affiliates and departments wishing to publish university-related mobile applications for research or administrative functions. At this time, OIT does not provide software development support on mobile application projects.
Be a current faculty, staff or student with an active UCMNetID. Complete and submit the Service Request form to initiate the request.
OIT provides consultation services on best practices for the design, development, security, storage, analytics and publication of your mobile applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play. As part of the consultation you may be provided a Google or Apple developer account to be used for university business. Your account will provide access to app stores that will allow you to publish and support your mobile application.
Support for this service is provided during standard operating hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.
OIT will respond to your consultation request within 3 business days. Google and Apple developer accounts are provisioned after the initial consultation and can take 1 – 3 business days to establish.
When you separate from the University your account will be disabled and responsibility transferred to another team member in the department. Accounts not used for 6 months or more will be deactivated. You can submit a ServiceNow request to disable your account. To reactivate your account, submit another request.
Consultations are provided free of charge, as are developer accounts within the official UC Merced Apple and Google Play subscriptions. Consultations may result in recommendations or referrals to third party services for various aspects of development and design work (cost varies).
