Box is a cloud-hosted file storage service that supports file sharing and collaboration through a robust set of synced editing, commenting, and task assignment functions, along with delegated file and folder security.
If files have been deleted and need to be restored, check the box 'Trash' folder. Otherwise, submit a request ticket along with the name of the files. OIT will provide best effort in restoring these files. Deleted files are available for recovery for up to 30 days and then permanently deleted.
You must be an active staff, faculty or student with a UCMNetID. Box is accessed via a web browser. There are additional applications to support downloaded syncing for desktop or mobile use.
By default, all users receive unlimited space for their Box account. Shared Box accounts are available and can be requested by contacting the OIT Service Desk.
Box is an outsourced service provided by Box.com and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Box accounts are automatically created by using your UC Merced email address and logging in to https://ucmerced.app.box.com/
