Mass Email (Distribution List and Listserv)

OIT will create a mass email distribution list which allows you to communicate with groups and colleagues. Once the email address has been created, you are responsible for managing membership, feature management, and list maintenance. OIT offers two types of mass email distribution lists based on user needs: distribution lists (O365 Groups) and listserv (MailMan). There are significant differences in the features between distribution lists (O365 Groups) and listserv (MailMan) that need to be considered. Please review the comparison chart for a summary of features. If you know you need to include external email addresses in your distribution list, the only option available is MailMan.
What do I need to get this service?

A valid faculty or staff with an active UCMNetID.

What is included?

OIT will create a mass email address and provide that to you.

When is support for this service available?

Support for this service is provided during standard operating hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How long does it take to get the service?

Within 3 business days.

How do I stop or change the service?

Membership will be managed directly by owners. Contact the OIT Service Desk to remove a distribution list that is no longer required.


There is no cost for this service.
