Microsoft Office 365 is a suite of cloud-based productivity applications that integrates all Microsoft's online applications including:

  • Excel
  • OneNote
  • Outlook
  • PowerPoint
  • Teams - UC Merced's and communication platform.
  • Word

What do I need to get this service?

Office 365 is licensed by UC Merced and available to all students, faculty, and staff with an active UCMNetID. Click Microsoft Office 365 for more information. 

What is included?

A wide variety of applications and services including email, calendars, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, file storage, and more. 

When is support for this service available?

Access to the MS Suite of applications is availabel 24x7. OIT support is available during standard operating hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding campus holidays. You may also contact MS Support.

How long does it take to get the service?

Available within 3 business days after your UCMNetID has been created. 

How do I stop or change this service?
  • Faculty and staff who are flagged as INACTIVE by Human Resources or by the Academic Personnel Officer will have their O365 account decommissioned. 
  • Students who graduate retain their UCM email address. Other Office 365 applications are no longer licensed. 
  • Students who have fewer than 24 units and who remain unenrolled for more than 1 term will have their email account decommissioned. 

Major platforms and services are funded as enterprise services for campus-wide use and there is no cost directly to end-users.
