Research Data Management Consultation Service


Research data management covers a full lifecycle of activities related to research data, from the proposal development and data management plan, through research collaboration, sharing, and curation, and finally to preservation, discovery and reuse.

Research data is defined as the digital inputs to and products of research performed in all campus disciplines. A partnership between Research IT and the Library, the RDM Program offers consulting, training, and online guidance to address new requirements from funding agencies, publishers, and data providers, and to help researchers manage and steward their data effectively and efficiently.

What do I need to do to get this service?

This service is for active faculty and research groups (including graduate students) who require data management plans, data curation, publication or storage of primary research data.

What is included?

Consultation by the Combined Library and OIT Research Data Management team. Needs will be determined during the consultation.

When is support available?

Support for this service is provided during standard operating hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How long does it take to get the service?

Initial consultation will occur within 3 business days.


There is no charge for this service, but depending on the solution provided, there may be some costs associated with research data management.
