Director, Project Management Office
Chioma is an adept and adaptive leader of UC Merced's Project Management Office. She has directed and implemented complex multi-million dollar projects successfully in multi-disciplinary environments for business units and information technology. Her portfolio of professional accomplishments is both in the public and private sectors. A Project Management Professional (PMP), Chioma brings a depth of knowledge on successful project delivery and change management dynamics. Her capacity to fit into a wide range of environments aides her in forging solid relationships with partners and building consensus across multiple organizational levels focused on the achievement of operational excellence.
In addition, her passion for volunteering facilitates opportunities to give women and girls alternatives for living a life of meaning with awareness of choices. Chioma strongly believes in assisting others to actualize their potential and has mentored a variety of people at various levels of accomplishments.
Jose Magana joined the UC Merced Office of Information Technology in 2014 as Project Manager. Jose is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and his experience includes roles as a Business Analyst, Associate Systems Manager, Change Management Manager, User Service Manager, Client Data Computing Support. Prior to joining UC Merced in May of 2001, he was employed at Robert Half International as Service Desk Technician.
Business System Analyst
Mercedes has over 13 years of experience as a Software QA Tester and IT Business Analyst. Mercedes is a ASTQB certified tester. She has worked in the private and public sectors and a wide range of projects from data migration, data warehouse/data marts, eCommerce, Finance, Insurance, Marketing, Energy and Utilities, and Workers Compensation. Mercedes has worked in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
Mercedes’s experience also includes defect management, leading a team, creating training material, end-user training, and managing a test environment.
